You may realize that our emeralds are being sold for a fraction of the market value. The most frequently asked question is: "How can we sell our emeralds for such a low price?"

Through this web site we are hoping to reach a much larger worldwide distribution, without the middleman. The much lower operating costs are reflected in our prices.

All emeralds featured in our showcase are from our shipwreck. They have been graded, and polished. All of our emeralds will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. We guarantee all of our emeralds to be as described. We are not a Home Shopping Network and discourage purchasing an emerald unless you are confident of your decision. We will charge a 10% re-stocking fee for all returns, unless of course it is our mistake. There are no returns after 14 days.

"Why would one emerald be more expensive than another emerald if they are both the same size?"

The reason some stones are more expensive than other stones has to do with the amount of inclusions a stone has. All emeralds have inclusions, which appear as very small lines that run through the emerald, these lines are referred to as an emerald's "garden." Inside those little black lines is a chemical known as chromium, which give emeralds their natural green color. If an emerald has very few inclusions more light passes through the stone, making it very clear and very expensive. For an example, check out emerald E1026 (in tray 2). This is one of our best specimens. It is very clear and you will notice it is a very light green. The less inclusions an emerald has means there is less chromium to give the emerald it's green color. The more inclusions an emerald has means there is more chromium and that the emerald will be a darker green. Some people prefer the darker green emeralds, it is really just a personal choice.
